A casino-themed celebration? All black everything? Say less. The look — and the story behind it — was nothing short of a gamble worth taking.
When Keyanna turned 40, she didn’t just throw a party — she created an experience.
40 All-In: A Night of Glamour & Games brought everyone together at ShakeUp ATL. From the moment you stepped inside it felt like we had been transported straight from Atlanta to Las Vegas — no boarding pass required.
The energy was undeniable and it felt like everyone in the room came dressed to play. And if you were there, you already know Young Dolph’s words were the unofficial soundtrack of the night.
“Stack that paper up and then make boss moves. She like to argue, so I sent that 🙊 to law school”
The theme was all black, and while I have no shortage of black garments in my closet, somehow I convinced myself nothing I owned met the moment.
Most of the look came together online — an ASOS oversized v-neck tank paired with baggy balloon pants. The real adventure was in finding the shoes to match. When online searches failed, I made a last-minute run through Atlanta, bouncing from Perimeter to Lenox, before finally landing at Saks Fifth Avenue. By sheer luck, the CdG PLAY x Converse low-tops on display were my exact size, so they came home with me that day and have since become one of my favorite pairs of shoes. I rounded out the look with Prada sunglasses and a JAXXON 8mm Cuban set — a high-low mix that felt sharp, modern, yet still me.
“Style is a gamble, but I like my odds.”
What I lack in a professional studio, I make up for by turning my living room — or honestly any room in my house — into one. This shoot was my first time breaking out the Torjim Softbox Photography Lighting Kit I'd ordered from Amazon. The stands are a little flimsy and not as tall as I’d like, but for their first run they held up — and honestly got the job done.
This shoot stands out as one of my favorites becauses it proves you don't need a perfect setup to create something intentional. Sometimes the best work comes from simply using what you have.
The hand wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to win the night.
