I almost didn't make the trip to Columbia. Rain was in the forecast and I wasn't convinced driving up just to spend the afternoon dodging it was the move.
Turns out, I'm glad I went.
The rain held off until somewhere around the end of the third quarter, giving the Mighty Marching Panthers plenty of time to do what they came to do. And with Benedict's band right across the field, there was no shortage of back and forth. Two great bands, plenty of energy and just enough friendly competition to keep the afternoon interesting.
Good music. Good football. A good Saturday in Columbia — and thankfully, the weather waited its turn.
